Hey everyone!
Not much progress to blog about! Although I do have a reason to blog today, I have been thinking about what I want this blog to be, and made the decision that as well as blogging my journey from Miss G to Mrs B I will be blogging the prettiest, and the most insanely amazing things I see people do on their wedding day as well as some local companies which I think could help you have the wedding day you deserve!
That's it for today and I'll back later in the week!

Getting Started
Hi everyone!
I have been a busy wee bee over the last three weeks! I've been going to see venues, researching, picking colours and eyeballing certain BEAUTIFUL dresses!
The first venue I went to see was 29 in Glasgow City Centre. 29 is a wonderful venue, and has so many unique features which are rustic, yet modern with a major touch of class. I met with the inhouse wedding planner there, David, who showed us around and answered all my crazy questions. The first area we were shown was the Supper Club, a gorgeous big room that looks incredibly classy and with its brick walls and pillars, it's perfect for a ceremony AND a meal. We decided against 29 purely because we wanted to stay at the venue we got married in overnight, and it doesn't have that facility, but maybe for my next wedding...
The second venue I visited was THE ONE. Burnhouse Manor in Ayrshire is lovely, it's got this really delicious smell of home made soup as soon as you walk in, this is a good thing for me! There are two lovely areas for a ceremony indoor and outdoors, the function suite is big enough for a large wedding and also has curtains in order that it may be intimate enough for a small wedding which mine will be! Plus, there is a jacuzzi bath with a TV attached....
So we booked it!!!

The Engagement
It's almost five years later, we are in our flat, living inside a happy bubble of watching too much TV, and eating constant chinese takeaways. It's my sister's wedding soon and instead of losing weight to get into my bridesmaid dress, I've attacked every chinese takeaway in EK and ate all their food. And Dominos... can't get enough of Dominos. I've subsequently piled on the weight and I'm feeling quite terrible about myself.
As I proudly watch my sister walk down the aisle, I see everyone looking at my sister, and she really is a beautiful bride, her dress is wonderful, her hair is pulled up in a messy bun and she has a tiara on which is lovely. I wish it was me.
That evening, Ross is acting funny at the reception, he won't dance with me, and although he doesn't smoke he spends most of the night outside smoking with my dad. Weirdo. It later transpires that he was chatting to my dad about the fact that he was coming round to the idea of getting married to me.
On 20th December 2011, Ross got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and, as the happiest woman in the world, I said yes.
What You Need To Know
Hi everyone!
So this is my first post on my new blog about planning my wedding! I will start with telling you about me, I'm Heather, 24, I am an overexcitable girlchild who bungles her way through life without (surprisingly) being seriously injured. I am also engaged.
Now I'll tell you about him; Ross. Ross is my man, he's 25, we've been together for five years, but really it's been about 7 years if you count all the messing about as teenagers! He is my absolute hero, my best friend, and quite possibly the most amazing man I've ever met. Scratch that, he IS the most amazing man I've ever met.
When I first met Ross, I was 16, he was 17, and we clicked, just like that. We sat together in English class (he was held back a year due to being educated in England for a while), and slagged the teacher. With every word, and chuckle we shared, I was just falling in absolute love with this boy. When we came back to school the following August for our last year at school, we were put in the same music class, and we became good friends.
By the end of school I was completely in love and I knew. But he wasn't. In fact it took him months of seeing me, not seeing me, being my best friend, being together ALL the time, and we went out for a very confusing three months where he didn't even kiss me, then broke up with me while he was in the pub with all his friends. That was really nice. I still went up to his house that night and hung out with him and we swapped CDs as planned. He was sooooo cool, and even though my heart was broken I could not stay away.
It would seem that he was getting there though, as we lay together on the couch on 5th November 2006, a full year and a half after we started seeing each other unofficially, he asked me out AGAIN, "Heather... could we maybe... try again? Like going out?" I calmly said yes and gave him a peck on the cheek, and left his house. I got into my mum's car as she was waiting for me, and SCREAMED.
The rest, they say, is history...
